Research Communication
Beyond traditional academic publications, I communicate research findings through oral presentations in the form of slide decks and posters. My goal is to translate complex information into accessible insights for diverse audiences.
Educational Slide Decks
Emotion Dysregulation: Implications for Mental Health and Patient Outcomes (2026)
Developed as a medical communications portfolio sample, this disease-state deck synthesizes evidence on emotion dysregulation, its impact on health and functioning, current intervention approaches, unmet needs, and future directions. This project demonstrates literature review, evidence synthesis, and scientific storytelling.
Emotion Regulation Flexibility and Diversity in Adolescents: Literature Synthesis
I synthesized and evaluated emerging research on emotion regulation flexibility and diversity in adolescence for presentation in a lab meeting. I translated theoretical and methodological concepts into an accessible format, comparing measurement approaches and future directions for developmental research.
Scientific Presentations & Evidence Synthesis
I have developed and presented slide decks to diverse audiences across a variety of outlets (e.g., conferences, departmental colloquia, research labs). These presentations have involved synthesizing current scientific literature and presenting findings from my own research projects spanning topics across emotion, health, culture, and upward social mobility in diverse populations, including adolescents, college students, and pregnant women. Below are three examples.
To Share or Not to Share Academic Achievements? An Examination of First-Generation College Student Experiences
I presented findings at a national conference demonstrating how first-generation college students navigate sharing academic achievements across home and university environments. Using qualitative interviews, my project examined achievement sharing, social mobility, pride, gratitude, and the challenges of navigating differing social and cultural norms.
Stress Reactivity in Pregnancy: The Roles of Mindfulness and Social Support
Through a project exploring how mindfulness and social support relate to stress reactivity among low-income pregnant women, I integrated health psychology, stress research, and maternal health to discuss factors that may promote psychological well-being during pregnancy.
Scientific Posters
I have developed and presented scientific posters at local and national conferences. These projects communicate my various research findings in emotion, health, culture, and interpersonal relationships. Below are three examples.
Can’t Stop This Feeling: Social Sharing, Appraised Importance, and the Duration of Emotion
This project explored the social processes that shape emotional experiences and demonstrated the use of quantitative methods to investigate emotion and interpersonal relationships.
The Expression of Pride across Social Contexts and Ethnicity
Examined how expressions of pride vary across social contexts and cultural backgrounds, highlighting the role of culture in shaping emotional expression and interpersonal communication. This poster was nominated for a Poster Award at the SPSP Emotion Preconference.
The Effects of a Stress Management Intervention on Pregnant Women’s Mindfulness, Social Support, and Stress Reactivity
This project integrated health psychology, maternal health, and intervention research to identify factors that may promote well-being during pregnancy. This project was part of a larger study where pregnant women participated in a stress management intervention.
Applied Research | UX Outloud
As part of a UX research apprenticeship, I conducted qualitative interviews, synthesized stakeholder insights, developed research strategy plans, and communicated findings through a slide deck research presentation for a data intelligence startup (sample image below).
